“I had the pleasure of seeing Karan Nagrani’s From Grindr to Blindr at the Victorian Pride Centre as part of the Midsumma Festival, and it was one of the most memorable live performances I’ve seen.

Karan takes his audience on an emotional rollercoaster, seamlessly blending laugh-out-loud comedy with deeply personal storytelling. His humour is sharp, self-aware and brilliantly timed, but it’s his willingness to be completely open and vulnerable that makes the show truly exceptional.

Through his experiences as a blind, gay person of colour, Karan offers an honest and powerful insight into identity, belonging, disability, culture and resilience. He has a rare ability to make audiences laugh one moment and reflect the next, challenging stereotypes while inviting everyone to see the world from a completely different perspective.

The show is hilarious, heartfelt, eye-opening and incredibly well crafted. I left with a greater understanding of the realities of vision loss, a deeper appreciation for the importance of inclusion and accessibility, and enormous admiration for Karan’s courage and authenticity.
